The Interface between CoPath and MARS is called MERT (MARS Electronic Report Transmission) deployed in January 1995.
MERT sends signed out reports, in real time, from CoPath to MARS.
The combination of the real time MERT interface and the on-line nature of MARS means that reports are available to clinicians the minute they are signed out.
This decreases AP turn around time, lowers overall hospital costs and improves patient care.
